London – January 16th, 2013 – Tata Communicationsa leading provider of A New World of Communications™, announces yet another step in the building of its unified communications and collaboration (UCC) portfolio with the launch of Global SIP Connect – a SIP trunking service. Global SIP Connect enables the replacement of legacy trunking services with the latest in SIP based PSTN access, including compatibility with the Microsoft Lync unified communications platform. Enterprise customers[2] will now be able to aggregate voice traffic using Tata Communications’ network. This not only reduces complexity but also brings significant cost and infrastructure savings.

Global SIP Connect uses Tata Communications’ global infrastructure to give enterprise customers worldwide connectivity options in certain countries, eliminating the need to manage multiple domestic and international service providers. It also means enterprises can seamlessly scale and add capacity in line with fluctuating business requirements. Users too will benefit from a consistent, high-quality service experience. Its compatibility with the Microsoft Lync unified communications platform enables domestic and international calls to be made to colleagues from the home[3], the office or on the move[4], encouraging collaboration and laying the foundation for greater levels of interaction.

Anthony Bartolo, Senior Vice President, Unified Communications and Collaboration, Tata Communications, says, “As a leader in wholesale international voice, our global reach and efficiencies of scale are particularly valuable to large global enterprises.
