NASSCOM, BPAP sign India’s first ever MoU over Telepresence
using Tata Communications’, PLDT facilities
Mumbai, Manila – August 26, 2009– For the first time in India, an MoU has been signed over Telepresence. Tata Communications, a leading provider of a new world of communications, has facilitated the signing of an MoU between NASSCOM (National Association of Software Services Companies) and BPAP (Business Processing Association of Philippines) by leveraging Tata Communications’ Public Room Telepresence service at Taj Mahal Palace & Towers, Mumbai, India and PLDT’s (Philippines Long Distance Telephony Company) recently launched Public Room Telepresence service in Manila, connected to Tata Communications Global Telepresence Exchange.The agreement represents NASSCOM and BPAP’s commitment to promote co-operation between the two industry bodies in the off-shoring and outsourcing industries in both countries.
Telepresence offers life-like, high-definition-conferencing facilities with superior, audio, video and environmental qualities that create the impression of a meeting that is being held across geographies of being held in the same room. Telepresence offers cost, time and environmental savings to organizations combined with convenience for the users. The opening of Manila Telepresence public room will help promote collaboration and commerce between the IT & ITES industry of India and Philippines by enabling Telepresence sessions from the Tata Communications network of public rooms in India and Manila.
During the signing ceremony, Som Mittal, President, President, NASSCOM said, "With this partnership with BPAP, I look forward to further strengthen the Outsourcing & Offshoring Industry relationship between India & Philippines.
