Oracle Resiliency and High Availability
Tata Communications delivers FastConnect over dual 10G/100G interconnects to Oracle by default, with circuits created over both the primary and secondary NNI. The interconnects are active/active; Tata Communications applies BGP attributes so they behave as primary and secondary. Oracle does not define formal resiliency tiers for FastConnect – resilience is built from redundant circuits and, optionally, multiple metros.
Default resiliency
Every Oracle FastConnect service on IZO™+ Multi Cloud Connect is delivered over Tata Communications’ dual 10G/100G interconnects to the Oracle location. A circuit is created over both the primary and secondary NNI, and Oracle recommends a pair of BGP sessions per service for redundancy. Failure of one interconnect shifts traffic to the other automatically via BGP.
Path control
The two interconnects are active/active by default. Tata Communications applies BGP Local Preference and AS-PATH prepending so one path is primary and the other secondary, giving predictable traffic flow. The same scheme extends to additional circuits where required.

Designs with more than two circuits can be arranged on request; Tata Communications sets the path-control values during provisioning.
BFD
For sub-second failure detection, BFD runs at 300 ms hello × 3, giving detection in approximately 900 ms. Apply matching BFD parameters on both sides.
Layer 2 resiliency
For Layer 2 services, resiliency is delivered with two circuits (two OCI/VC-IDs, primary and secondary), but failover is managed by you using routing between your CPE and Oracle. See Oracle L2VPN Services.
Capacity planning
When a circuit failure shifts traffic to the surviving circuit, that circuit carries the full load. Size each circuit for peak traffic, not half – if peak is 4 Gbps, provision each circuit at 4 Gbps. Bandwidth changes are non-disruptive on the Oracle side and can be made as demand grows.
What sits with you
CPE redundancy and last-mile diversity are the customer’s responsibility: provision redundant CPE so a single device failure does not remove access, and ensure your CPEs reach the Tata Communications MPLS over diverse last-mile paths.
