Order Tracking & Status

Every IZO™+ Multi Cloud Connect order is placed and tracked in the TCx Portal. After you check out, the order moves through a defined set of states - from Under Provisioning to Active - and each provisioned component appears in your inventory, where you can view the full solution, make changes, and raise a termination. This page explains the journey and where to follow it; the Order & Service Status Reference defines every status in detail.

The order journey at a glance

An IZO™+ Multi Cloud Connect order follows the same path whatever the service model or cloud you are connecting to:

  1. Design and pre-order - You configure a solution on the canvas - Fabric Port, VNF, Cloud VC and any other components - and validate each one. While you are still designing, the order sits in a pre-order (draft) state and no charges apply.

  2. Pricing and checkout - You select the contract term, review the component-wise price break-up, and check out. You enter your contracting entity details, generate the order form, and submit it - either directly (“Order as You Click”) or by sending the Customer Order Form (COF) for electronic signature.

  3. Provisioning - Once the order is submitted, Tata Communications provisions the solution. The service moves into Under Provisioning while the configuration is applied.

  4. Active - When the technical configuration is complete and billing has started, the service becomes Active. From this point you can monitor it, change it, or terminate it.

The states you will see through this journey - and what each one means - are defined in full on the Order & Service Status Reference.

Placing and confirming the order

At checkout the TCx Portal assembles a Customer Order Form (COF) that brings together the terms and conditions, the total charges, the billing and payment details, the contracting information, and an order summary. Review these before you submit.

You can submit the order directly, or route the COF for signature to a designated approver using the delegated / electronic-signature option. A draft (eCOF) can be previewed and downloaded at any time for internal review before submission.

Tracking the order and viewing your inventory

Open Order Tracking in the TCx Portal to see your orders and their current state. Selecting an in-progress order lets you follow its delivery; from there you can open the provisioned components in your Inventory.

Inventory is organised so you can see both the individual building blocks and the whole design:

  • Fabric Port inventory - the ports that form your entry point into the IZO™+ Multi Cloud Connect network.

  • IZO™+ Multi Cloud Connect inventory - the Tata Cloud Router (TCR) and Virtual Network Function (VNF) instances in your solutions.

  • Connection inventory - the Cloud VCs, Hosted Virtual Connections (HVC) and Cloud Interconnects that carry your traffic.

  • Solution inventory - the complete solution as a topology view, showing how the components are joined and the current status of each.

From the connection inventory you can also retrieve the details you need for the cloud side - for example, copying a Cloud VC’s connection identifier so you can find and accept the matching hosted connection in your cloud provider’s console.

Changing a service after it is active

Changes to a live service are made through MACD (Move, Add, Change, Delete). MACD is available only once a service is Active - for example, adding a Cloud VC to an existing VNF, adding a second cloud to a Tata Cloud Router solution, or changing a bandwidth. Each time you attach or change a component, validate it again before submitting the change order.

Two components can be ordered on their own and extended later by MACD: a VNF and a Tata Cloud Router (TCR). Other components are ordered as part of a solution.

Who does what during delivery

Tata Communications designs the solution with you when you order through the sales team, configures and provisions it on the Tata Communications side from the parameters you supply, and then monitors and assures it. The parameters you enter - such as your cloud account identifier, ASN, peering addresses and the routes you want advertised - must be correct and must exist on the cloud side; a correct parameter that still fails is investigated by Tata Communications, whereas an incorrect or non-existent one is corrected by raising a new order. The configuration performed on the cloud provider’s side is always yours to complete - see below and the relevant per-cloud section.

Terminating a service

You can raise a termination on an Active service from the TCx Portal. The service moves to Termination In Progress and then to Terminated when the network side has been removed.

Terminating the connection in the TCx Portal removes the Tata Communications-side configuration only. It does not delete the hosted connection, virtual interface or gateway in your cloud provider’s account. To avoid continued cloud-provider charges, delete those cloud-side resources yourself in the provider’s console after the Tata Communications-side termination completes.

What’s on the cloud side

The cloud connection at the far end is created and removed in the cloud provider’s console. This page covers how ordering, tracking and termination work on the Tata Communications side; for the cloud-side connection request, acceptance, routing and resource deletion, see the relevant per-cloud section.
