Connecting On-Premises Active Directory to AWS
One of the ways to extend the Active Directory is through an AD Connector,which is a directory gateway that redirects directory requests to your on-premises data center without caching any information in the cloud. Secondmethod is through AWS managed AD which creates a fully managed,Microsoft Active Directory in the AWS Cloud. It is powered by Windows Server2019 and operates at the 2012 R2 Forest and Domain functional levels.
