Rajarshi Purkayastha (“Raj”) is the Head of Pre-Sales in India and Middle East, Central Asia and Africa for Tata Communications, responsible for leveraging industry and competitive insights to enable Tata Communications’ sales and product leaders to accelerate decision making and keep the business ahead of the curve.
He has more than 18 years of experience in technology and telecommunications.
He has been with Tata Communications for more than 14 years, working in different roles across the organisation: he has headed up the Pre-sales team for northeast India and APAC, the Transformational Solutions Group team, the Global Marketing Insights team, and the Sales team for Africa and Saudi Arabia. In Africa, he was part of a group responsible for building a telecom company from scratch in Botswana.
He won Tata Communications’ flagship innovation contest Shape the Future in 2015 with an idea for providing affordable connectivity to people in tier three and four cities in India. He also has three patents pending for technologies involving drones, robotics and Internet connectivity.
